COVID-19 UPDATE

An update for our customers.

We hope that this message find you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

Following the latest announcement on 4th January, we are taking all the necessary steps to follow government guidance. To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, our stores in the UK, Ireland and Amsterdam have temporarily closed their doors until further notice, and will reopen as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

The safety and well-being of our store community, including you, our customers and our staff remains our top priority, so when we do re-open again, we want to welcome you back safely and will continue to adhere to our Safe and Responsible Shopping program with necessary control and distancing measures in place.

A fundamental aspect of this work has been to implement a thorough risk assessment process and significant investment has been made to implement control measures to ensure staff, customers and visitors to our stores remain safe. These measures, which form part of our Safe and Responsible Shopping program adhere to all applicable health and safety legislation including the guidance set out by the UK government and Public Health England on social distancing and hygiene management practices. Our risk assessments have been shared with our employees to ensure they are aware of the controls being implemented and are subject to ongoing review.

Safe and Responsible Shopping

We have made a few important changes to our stores and ways of working to ensure that we protect our community. These include:

Stores will be operating with reduced hours as we ease back into providing a safe shopping environment

Social distancing will be enforced and monitored at all times, including limiting the number of customers in-store

We have revised the layout of our stores and reduced the amount of stock on display, so that you have space to shop comfortably

Our teams have been trained and encouraged to adopt frequent hand washing/sanitising and are required to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms before heading into work

We have installed Perspex barriers at till points to manage transmission risk

Hand sanitizer gel will be freely available across our stores for staff and customer use

Returns will be subjected to a 72-hour quarantine procedure, in line with Covid-19 government guidelines

We will be operating a cashless service and contactless payments will be encouraged

We are enforcing rigorous cleaning routines in each store before opening and also throughout the day, paying particular attention to high-touch areas


While these changes may take a while to get used to, our store staff are committed to ensuring that you still receive the same high standard of care and service you have come to expect from French Connection.
