International Sales Internship

For students during their placement year
Start date: July 2020
Duration 10-12 months

French connection is offering a student work placement / internship for a hard working individual to join our EMEA Wholesale department as an international sales intern. The intern will join a direct team of four within a larger wholesale department and 11 sales agents across Europe, as well as working closely with head office internal departments that include Marketing, Press, Design and Production.

This is the ideal position for someone keen to build a career in the fashion retail industry, gain experience within a well-known and established British fashion brand and to benefit from an exposure to all departments of the business.

What you will be doing:

  • Sales Agents support - Responding to requests from international sales agents, clients and buyers.
  • Order & Stocklist communications - Activating and overseeing all stock orders from our sales teams across Europe, amending orders, updating communications and sending out to sales teams, direct key clients and franchisees.
  • Recording, filing and logging – Logging of returns, shortages and filing seasonal forward orders.
  • Product presentations - involvement in seasonal presentations and catwalk shows for global buyers.
  • Product line lists - Creating line lists each season for new collections and maintain throughout the season.
  • Samples - Coordinating sample lending to clients for photo-shoots, press and blogger lend-outs etc.
  • Marketing/PR material & Image distribution –working alongside the graphic design team to manage the marketing material requests from clients and sharing product shots and campaign images for their sales use in season.
  • Social Media - take part in the management and support of our European social media account running. (This also includes supporting our team with any creative ideas on how we can increase our brand visibility and sales across our markets).
  • Press gifts / giveaways – organising, logging and sending out press gifting for international events.
  • As needed support –Involvement in various research (possible target clients and potential event planning) as well as putting together projects and presentations as needed.

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication skills: written and spoken and an understanding of different cultural mentalities.
  • To be meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
  • Organisation and task-management skills, as well as being able to work under pressure.
  • We are looking for someone who is a fast learner, open minded and easy going.
  • A pro-active approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative in order to join our friendly team in a busy environment.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • A keen interest in the fashion and retail business.
