Introducing our #StayInWithFC Series

Author Editor - 2 minute read

Being at home has become the new normal for a lot of us recently, so staying in has officially become the new going out. It's now more important than ever to look for positive, uplifting ways to fill our time (if not busy working from home of course).

So a couple of weeks ago, we launched our #StayInWithFC series with some familiar faces to share how they're spending their time at home. From date nights in to home styling, they've rounded up their top ideas to give you a little bit of inspiration.

Bring your home to life with Abigail Ahern

Home has always been our sanctuary but with many of us now working from home, what better time to refresh your space than now. As part of this series we asked interior designer, Abigail Ahern, to share how she's styling FC at home to create an uplifting space that you don’t mind spending all day, every day in.

Take inspiration from Abigail and make small changes to your interiors to take your spaces up a level. Add decorative accessories to your home by the way of our carved wooden vases and bowls, statement wall baskets and recycled glassware to bring textural warm layers to your space.

Abigail also shared ways to create friction in your interiors by the way of introducing elements you would normally find outdoors and bringing them inside. Take her lead and bring soothing greenery accents and statement-making French cane vases and lighting into your interiors. These additions help to echo the outdoors and instantly bring in a light and airy aesthetic, creating the perfect relaxing space.

At-home style with The India Edit

As part of our #StayInWithFC series, we also asked India from @theindiaedit and @themirroredit to share how she's wearing FC at home. Make comfy look good and take inspiration from India, by switching up your joggers and tee combination in favour of this chic bodycon dress. Whether you’re conference-calling or just lounging around the house, give your joggers a break and opt for this ultra-flattering and comfy dress to elevate your everyday style. Throw on with your favourite sandals for your once-a-day walk or transition into the evening with heels for a Friday night of dressing up indoors or for Zoom drinks with friends.

Date nights in with Polly Sayer

We asked Sheerluxe Fashion Assistant, Polly Sayerto share how she’s spending date nights in at home. Keep lockdown date nights exciting by switching up table dinners for indoor floor picnics like Polly. If you’re lucky enough to have an outside space, take your picnic date outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. All you need to do is scatter some soft-touch plush cushions (comfort is key, especially if you’re on the floor), roll out your favourite rug, cook up your best dish and crack open a bottle of wine.

Wellness evening's with Amy Sturgis

We also asked fashion consultant, Amy Sturgis, to share how she’s spending her week-day evenings at home and keeping uplifted. During these unpredictable times, it’s important to find your fix of serenity and stress relief. Take inspiration from Amy and add a weekly stress relief wellness session into your routine, like Gabby Bernstein’s online chanting and breath-work techniques. These will help to create a serene sense of calmness and relax you for the rest of the working week.

We also want to see how you're styling FC at home. Share your photos with us by using the hashtag #StayInWithFC and tag us @frenchconnection on Instagram.
