A gallery wall is one of those things that can instantly transform any room. If you’re renting or prefer to keep updating your interiors regularly, then another benefit of this trend is its transient nature – the ability to swap out prints and photos as often as you want, and to be to create the wall with no need for renovation.

What’s even better is it’s an inexpensive trend that you can probably tap into straight away. Whilst most of us are not able to indulge in expensive art, investing in affordable prints can have as much of an aesthetic impact.

Whilst there’s definitely no rules in creating the ultimate Instagram-worthy gallery wall, we caught up with our very own homeware team to get their top tips for curating something of your Pinterest dreams.

Let’s get personal

“Choose an image or print that appeals and resonates with you. Something that speaks to you personally – after all, you’ll be seeing it everyday so avoid choosing something just because it suits the wall colour!”

Mix and match

“Frame size is where gallery walls come into their own. Choose same size frames for a graphic linear look or mix small and large frames with different finishes for a more eclectic look.”

For the renters

“If you’re renting with a landlord who prefers bare walls, prints and artwork are just as stylish leant on a shelf, against some books or even artfully positioned on the floor as they are hung on the wall.”

Plan it out

“When planning your gallery hang, lay it out on the floor first. This will help you ensure that the balance and composition is how you want it before you position it on the wall.”

The perfect addition

“Intersperse your favourite family photographs with printed artwork to add an individual twist to your wall. We particularly like black and white photos for a retro finish.”
