The definition of a burgasm is the climax of excitement gained
through eating meat, bun and cheese, all at once. And here at FC HQ we
love nothing more than getting our chops around a tasty burger that’s
oozing from the core. To show you just how much we love these tasty meat
morsels we teamed up with top burger joint Byron, and left five glam
models alone with them at our Burgasm stand, you can’t even imagine the
mess*! We then headed down to their Camden restaurant to try out their
offering all for ourselves.
Byron is a pretty laid-back burger
joint with a nonchalant vibe to it. Bright and colourful interiors
(every restaurant has its own unique design), a simple layout, open
kitchen, soulful tunes and a neat menu filled with classics and a
monthly special; it’s the perfect place to go with friends, family or to
take your new beau (maybe after date 3 or 4.) We rocked up at lunchtime
just before the crowds started pouring in, and were greeted by a rather
handsome waiter and seated in a booth. One of the best bits about Byron
has to be the chilled glasses that accompany everything from the
milkshakes to the jugs of tap water to the array of craft beers on offer
including their very own lager and pale ale, keeping you nice and icy
on a Monday. Once ordered we only waited 15 minutes for our feast to
arrive, and knew the special Limited Edition Miami Slice burger was
going to steal the show, and be warned this burger ain't gonna be around
for long. Thanks to its 6oz hamburger, crispy potatoes, spicy salami,
American cheese, smoked paprika ketchup, sourdough bun and the extra
helping of chicharrones (aka pork scratchings) and Byron hot sauce on
the side, it was a spicy slice of burger heaven. Courgette fries and a
dollop of the blue cheese sauce helped everything slip down easier.
you order a side to accompany your Byron burger, make it the onion
rings. Huge crispy rings stacked up ready to be dipped into aioli
complement any of the burgers on offer. And wash everything down with a
milkshake - we kept it classic with strawberry and chocolate but hear
tasty things about the Oreo version.
The good news about Byron is
they've opened restaurants in all four corners of London and have
ventured further afield to Liverpool, Manchester, York and Milton
Keynes. There’s literally no escaping Byron.
