We know the sun hasn't shown it's head for much longer than a weekend, but we're still going to bang on about Autumn anyway. Sorry, not sorry. Only a little bit though, we promise. We're giving you a peek into the season ahead, so you can start your wishlists extra early. Autumn / Winter 2014 sees French Connection's grown up side peek through, while masculine tailoring for both boys and girls layered under heavy wool winter coats as the style du jour. We're pushing aside the pool slides right now...

The stark landscapes of Siberia, opulent Russian wealth and the grandeur of the Tsar regime, our Autumn/ Winter 2014 collection is rich with Eastern influences. Heavy stuff, we know, but thick, bleak landscapes filled with sumptuous autumnal colours make for a pretty perfect collection to see you through colder climes. Reigning supreme, coats make the biggest impact for the new season. Ice blue tones, oversized tent shapes, patterned and waterproof styles, Autumn / Winter 14 is all about your outerwear. Military influences are present with contemporary collarless cuts and faded green buttoned options.

The laid-back ease of slouchy separates continues into autumn, but takes a more masculine approach. Tailored trousers worn oversized are paired with a matching blazer in a boxy cut, resulting in that achingly cool borrowed-from-the-boys finish.

Don't forget about a little glitz and glam for the winter months too. Column skirts covered in tonal sequins are teamed with dainty heels and tucked-in knitwear for a clash of texture and style.

Tweeds, cashmere, Melton wool and lambswool combine to create a rich palette and a hefty texture combination for Autumn / Winter 2014. The French Connection Man takes on a stricter wardrobe for the new season, taking inspiration from his Father's crisp wool suits and layered weekend style. Slim fits, streamlined cuts and military influences form the base, with heavy wool overcoats adding the warmth for dark winter nights.

The palette stays suitably autumnal throughout, with camel, charcoal, port and navy brought to life by confident flashes of lifeboat yellow and blue sapphire. Shirting takes a more central role with chambray styles offering heavy duty feel to our classic button-down collars.

Contrasting staples were modern matte shine bomber jackets in subdued navy and khaki and classic hoodies that will prove invaluable when layering begins.

Autumn / Winter 2014 is coming soon...
