Spring/Summer 08 Menswear

Spring /summer 08 brings a fresh injection of style into your wardrobe.

Breathable natural linens, lightweight cottons and fine knit sweats make up a summer wardrobe, which is finished with an unruly edge. Laundered styles and layering is key, showcased in a colour palette of pale greys, muted green, white and lemon yellows, which reflects the freshness of spring.

Longer length shirts are mixed with dip dye tees and worn under citrus stripe tanks tops, while oversize cardigans sit along-side loose fit trousers. Knitwear adds a powerful citrus injection seen in block colours and tonal stripe v-necks. Formal elements are added to this look in a carefree un-conditional manner. Gone are traditional linings and tailored methods, blazer jackets are loosened-up for a fresh wearable style, which sits neatly with drawstring cargo pants and light wash roll-up jeans.

Technical sportswear adds an intricate offering into the mix. Jackets are lightweight in cagoule inspired styles and cropped bomber shapes. Exposed zips, invisible pockets, internal compartments and concealed hoods feature throughout. Duel function jackets with snap-out inner garments offer more than meets the eye and bring an unexpected double offering. Graphic print t-shirts take inspiration from electron circuits with a hint of military details. Conceptual elements also prevail with cleverly placed pockets and exaggerated proportions. Mix with white skinny leg jeans or turn up trousers hem for a slightly old school 1950s rock look.

Accessories take inspiration from the main clothing range. Bright nylon sports bags feature racing stripes and detachable shoulder straps while satchel bags come with internal laptop compartments. Scarves are relaxed in open weave patterns and sit with fun graphic prints belts and a smarter offering of classic leather styles.

Spring/Summer 08 Womenswear

Shimmer through decades of style into Spring with an eclectic collection taking inspiration from the romanticism of the 70's, casual sports layering of the 80's blended through draping jersey to touches of modernism, reminiscent of the early 90's. The kitsch collection is structured by classic wardrobe staples giving the season a timeless feel.

Prints and detail evoke a dressing-up box of yesteryear, full of sugar sweet stripes, ditsy florals and delicate embellishment contrasted with over scaled abstract graphics in show stopping colours. Embellishments are graphic interpretations of stripes and spots in mouth-watering colours mixed with futuristic holographics.

Dresses lead the way in an array of shapes and styles while laid-back tunics come in graphic prints or delicate florals. The versatile shirtdress features throughout the season - choose from relaxed soft cotton styles with blouson sleeves or washed satin empire line in sherbet lemon. Polish off your frocks with the 'Chain Gang' dress - a delicate shift dress in nude peach with silver hoop embellishment. For a retro 50's feel, opt for the cream and navy bold stripe panelled prom dress. Towards the end of summer floaty dresses make a come back with tiered gypsy styles and long country checks.

Grown up tea party prints adorn smock tops and loose flowing styles and shirts get tied up with large bows at the collar. Silver piping on loose t-shirts continue the high shine trend from last season with an array of sherbet coloured stripes on oversized boyfriend vests and Neapolitan ice cream stripe pleated tunics. Lightweight summer knits are updated with sequin and embellishment - knitted shrugs offer an alternative to outerwear.

Suiting is structured - high waist trousers and shorts are held together by fitted waistcoats. Outerwear is un-structured with sleeve detailing, exposed zips and exaggerated drawstring hoods giving a nod to 80's sports heritage. Rain macs are given the signature French Connection twist with a plastic floral coating and epaulette detailing.

Denim is given a new edge and adapted into frill front shirts, flirtatious dresses, sun bleached jackets and dungarees with detachable braces. Jeans are given variety with wide leg, high waisted and super skinny fits leading the way. Coloured denim is here to stay, make a statement in red, lawn green or blue.

Accessories compliment the diversity of the collection, bags are oversized in metallic bronze and silver and high shine pvc, shoppers come in colourful sheer plastic with matching belts. Large raffia styles with purse fastening add elegance alongside neutral leather designs. Jewellery adds the finishing touch with long strand beaded necklaces and assorted Perspex pendants mixed with chunky bangles.

GIRLS
Girls float through summer months in easy pieces, layered up for the perfect look. Be bold in abstract and vintage inspired prints adorning summery skirts and smock dresses, finished off with ruching detail. A carefree 70’s hippy feel is brought up to date with coloured leggings or white, pink, blue and red denims. Denim continues with the vintage feel in the darkest indigoes through to antique bleach washes, while the two shapes to watch out for are slim leg jeans and the culotte’s dungaree.
Get hot under the collar in blazing reds and ochres, perfect to see in the summer season. Citrus tones of lemon and green are sweet not sour, while ice-cream pastels and neutrals cool you down as the temperature begins to soar. Shrug knits in a rainbow of colours provide the perfect easy accompaniment for when the sun goes down, while embellishment detail glitters in rays when it shines.
Matching swimwear and accessories in signature prints complete the collection to ensure a fashion-filled summer of fun.

BOYS
For the boys it’s all about lightweight layering to achieve the ultimate in dress-down cool. Oversize shirts poking out from under a rolled-up sleeve, a perfectly placed trilby to complement sun-bleached skinny jeans; it’s the finishing touches that make you the prince of the park or the definitive beach boy.
Stomp in to spring in an intense palette of deep blue and red tones. Lighter highlights of neutrals and neons pave the way for fiery primary reds and yellows in the later summer months, when the sun’s blazing and the living is easy. Bold colours are crisply set off against white trousers, jet black denim, or slim fit grey resin jeans with copper stitching.
Striped and printed jersey cardigans, polos and tees are easy to wear and achingly hip. T-shirts catch the eye through the use of repetitive all-over prints, while bright graphic tees rock-on under lightweight parkas or sports jackets - essential staple items for a fresh summer feel, no other cover-up will do.
Festival-inspired, free-spirited, boys will be boys and this season’s intentionally disheveled look is perfect for care-free play in the sunshine.
